About

Howdy, I’m Mizuho!

I’m a small-town Midwesterner interested in computers and technology. I live and work in northeast Kansas, as an IT systems administrator.

In my free time, I like to chill or play games with friends. There’s a lot that I play, but some that spring to mind include Monster Hunter, Phasmophobia, Escape from Tarkov, and Mario Kart! I am also on VRChat, though I’m not usually in public lobbies. You can sometimes find me at various conventions as well.

I’m also relatively timid in person, and also somewhat oblivious (the joke about engineers is certainly true with me). I want to try and get better at interacting, but that’s easier said than done. If you do decide to reach out to me, please don’t just say hello; give me something to respond to!

Fun Facts

  • My current icon was drawn by Mausttrap as a wonderful suprise gift from my best friend Rydge.
  • I’m currently 22 years old.
  • I go by any pronouns, but most use he/him. It doesn’t matter to me as long as I can tell you’re trying to get my attention!
  • I identify as pansexual and demisexual. Jury is still out on gender identity, though.
  • While they’re not really reliable, I’ve consistently scored INTP-T on a Meyers test.
  • I’ve been a furry since around 2016 or 2017, if I remember right.
  • For anyone thinking about messaging me about it, I do not roleplay, do not ask.

The Domain

One question I’ve gotten a couple times now is why I use the domain I do. Well, I wanted a domain that was related to coyotes, but there’s not many domains left that fit. I used to use mizuho.cc, but that TLD is unfortunately used by a lot of folks for malicious reasons. I figured I could do better.

Canis latrans is the scientific name for coyotes, and I noticed that latrans.io was available. I decided to get it, and thought it would be funny to have my website be canis.latrans.io. This also allowed me to do fun things, like setting my Bluesky handle to @mizuho.latrans.io, and Lewdsky to @ad.latrans.io.

This arrangement also leaves the main domain open in the future, should I decide to do anything else with it.
